Micro Entertainment: Rx
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
This game is part of the Micro Entertainment Pack, a collection of tiny desktop games I developed for fun.
Capsules of various colours will fall from the top of the game board. Match 4 or more of the same colour to clear items from the game board. Clear all viruses to win the level and move on to the next (with more viruses). Clear multiple viruses in one move to gain bonus score. Control using the keyboard. Arrow keys move the capsule, up arrow or Z and X rotate the capsule. Q pauses and/or exits the game.
In the main menu, the arrow keys may be used to change speed or starting level.
Features:
- Classic Dr. Mario Gameplay - A fairly faithful rendition of the gameplay of the NES version of Dr. Mario.
- High score tracking - Try to beat your personal best!
- Tiny, unobtrusive graphics and Micro Mode - The game only occupies a fraction of your screen real estate, and can even be displayed in half size on high DPI displays, making it perfect for discreetly playing at work or while watching something on your computer.
Currently I prioritise mac binaries, as that's the only platform I play these games on, but am also building for other platforms. They are written in Rust and have a dependency on the C library SDL2.

“making it perfect for discreetly playing at work or while watching something on your computer.” Wouldn’t we all like to cheat and sneak in a game here or there! Indeed making a game fit in a tiny amount of screen is good for us multi-taskers.
